Registration is now open but places are limited and filling up quickly so don’t be disappointed and register today at www.dublinmountainschallenge.ie Barretstown was founded by the actor Paul Newman in 1994 and modelled on his renowned Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in the United States. It provides programmes of Therapeutic Recreation for children affected by serious illnesses (primarily cancers and serious blood diseases) and their families. Barretstown’s camp in Kildare serves over 3000 children each year, entirely free of charge to the families who attend, so donations and fundraising efforts are vital for the charity to help more sick children experience the magic of Barretstown each year. Barretstown’s mission is to rebuild the lives of children affected by serious illness and their families. The therapeutic recreation provided by Barretstown is seen as a crucial part of the treatment of childhood illnesses, helping to reduce the disruption to the normal; child and adolescent development process.
